About Recurring Lists
Think of Recurring Lists as a binder or folder holding multiple sign-in sheets. It's a collection of lists that simplifies managing recurring programs like courses, daily visitor logs, or classes.
OneTap automatically generates specific instances (Child Lists) based on a schedule. The Parent List contains all profiles and serves as a template, while Child Lists represent individual occurrences (like daily attendance). Suppose a profile is added to a Child List. In that case, it is automatically included in the Parent List, ensuring that the profile is included in future Child Lists according to the schedule.
Instructions
Click on a recurring list from the home page or the Lists page.
You will see the parent recurring list and the child lists that are pinned to the recurring list.
Add a profile on the parent list; the parent list is the template list. This means that the names are copied onto the subsequent child lists automatically when it's created based on the schedule.
Setting - How to turn off the auto-add to the parent list
By default, when you add a profile to a Child List, it is automatically added to the Parent List, ensuring inclusion in future lists. For example, if someone new joins a class, they are added to the Parent List for future sessions (i.e., the parent list serves as a template). However, this feature can be turned off, preventing new profiles from being automatically added to upcoming lists.
It's important to note that adding a profile to the child list only places their name on the parent list as a template (placeholder), it does not check them in, their name would simply appear in the future lists as not checked-in but on the list.
