About Recurring Lists

Think of Recurring Lists as a binder or folder holding multiple sign-in sheets. It's a collection of lists that simplifies managing recurring programs like courses, daily visitor logs, or classes.

OneTap automatically generates specific instances (Child Lists) based on a schedule. The Parent List contains all profiles and serves as a template, while Child Lists represent individual occurrences (like daily attendance). Suppose a profile is added to a Child List. In that case, it is automatically included in the Parent List, ensuring that the profile is included in future Child Lists according to the schedule.

Instructions

  1. Click on a recurring list from the home page or the Lists page.

  2. You will see the parent recurring list and the child lists that are pinned to the recurring list.

  3. Add a profile on the parent list; the parent list is the template list. This means that the names are copied onto the subsequent child lists automatically when it's created based on the schedule.

Setting - How to turn off the auto-add to the parent list

By default, when you add a profile to a Child List, it is automatically added to the Parent List, ensuring inclusion in future lists. For example, if someone new joins a class, they are added to the Parent List for future sessions (i.e., the parent list serves as a template). However, this feature can be turned off, preventing new profiles from being automatically added to upcoming lists.

It's important to note that adding a profile to the child list only places their name on the parent list as a template (placeholder), it does not check them in, their name would simply appear in the future lists as not checked-in but on the list.
